Tasting notes
The 2020 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with perfumed citrus peel, grass clipping and light flinty aromas - very pretty and engaging. The palate is well balanced with a fine line of acidity, taut and fresh with an energetic and quite persistent finish. This is excellent. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.

The 2020 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains is a especially demonstrative this year, bursting with aromas of pear, clear honey, nutmeg, oyster shell and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's fleshy and charming, with lively acids and a saline finish.
The 2020 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru presents a powerful nose of dried honey, honeysuckle and light waxy aromas, all delineated and focused. The balanced palate offers attractive orange zest and mandarin notes on the entry. Well-judged acidity lends tension toward the finish, which feels concentrated and long. This is a finely made Montmains with the potential to give 15-plus years of pleasure.
