Tasting notes
Intense and sweet, but precise with tropical fruit aromas (pineapples) and raisin flavors on the nose, the 2014 Morstein Riesling Auslese is a light, piquant and yet concentrated, spicy wine; it has lovely fruit intensity and fine botrytis flavors. "There was much less rain due to the Donnersberg mountain than in the Rheingau in 2014, so we got a healthy botrytis," says Keller. Indeed, this is one of the finest Riesling Ausleses outside the Mosel of the 2014 vintage.

20% botrytis. Both honeyed and a little herbal on the nose. Wonderfully juicy even in all that intensity of clean apricot flavours. The acidity lifts it high on the long, floating finish. (JH)
