Tasting notes
The 2021 Beaune Pertuisots 1er Cru is a little fuller and denser on the nose with black fruit creeping in and joining the red, slightly more sous-bois in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a little more fleshy, gentle grip and quite structured on the finish. There is a slight "soapiness" that causes me to dock a couple of points. It lingers on the aftertaste and doesn't really compel me back. Disappointed with this bottle that showed better from barrel. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

This is also aromatically quite floral with cool and wonderfully pure aromas of red currant, cherry and a beguiling array of spice elements. Once again there is a lovely texture to the precise and vibrant middleweight flavors that culminate in a compact, youthfully austere and like Pertuisots typically has, a mildly rustic finish. A strong effort from this lesser-spotted premier cru, the 2021 Beaune 1er Cru Pertuisots delivers aromas of dark berries, raw cocoa, orange rind and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy palate with good tension and persistence.
