Tasting notes
The 2021 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru has a bravura nose with copious citrus fruit, wet stone and orange zest—very intense considering the vintage, becoming more peachy with aeration. The palate is well-balanced with a well-defined entry, very intense and tensile with an almost burly, yet paradoxically elegant finish. Excellent.

Aromas of pear, orange blossom, lime zest and blanched almonds preface the 2021 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu, a medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny wine with good depth of fruit, bright acids and a pure, expansive finish. This will offer a broad drinking window.
The 2021 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru has more penetration and intensity than the Montmains with vibrant crushed limestone and petrichor scents; this is quintessentially Chablis. The palate is very well balanced with plenty of energy, concentrated, white fruit such as white peach and hints of apricot. Benoit Droin mentioned how this vineyard flourishes in cooler vintage, as is the case here.
