Vilmart's 2014 Brut Rosé Emotion is laced with sweet dried cherry, dried herbs, blood orange and mint. It offers terrific breadth for the year, with the Pinot more in evidence than in the 2015 tasted alongside it (the blend is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay for both). Eight grams of dosage feels expertly judged. Disgorged: February 2022.

The 2014 Champagne Emotion Rosé Brut is a salmon hue with a light orange tinge. The nose is floral with rose petal, apricot, raspberry, and bread dough. The palate is dry, with a great balance of fruit, and it is savory for the style, with peach and orange zest. Drink 2023-2035.
The 2014 Brut Rosé Emotion is good but also surprisingly dried out. I am not sure about long aging on the lees for Rosé, as it can introduce an element of variability along with oxidative qualities that in this case are also stylistically out of context for the estate. Sweet red cherry, crushed rose petal and cinnamon emerge, but this ultimately feels fragile and light. The blend is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Disgorged: March, 2021.
