Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Beaune Montrevenots 1er Cru, from vines on the border with Pommard, was slightly reduced on the nose and not as expressive as either the Volnay or Pommard Village. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, gentle and unassuming, delivering fleshy red currant and cranberry fruit laced with sous-bois toward the finish. This is a small cuvée of five-and-a-half barrels, and it should drink earlier than the domaine’s other cuvées.
