Tasting notes
A blend of 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier with a dosage of eight grams per liter, the 2014 Brut Belle Époque is turning out well today, evoking aromas of white peach, pear, spring flowers, almonds flowers and lemon oil. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, it’s fresh and charming with a delicately tense mid-palate and a saline, mineral finish. Long and penetrating, this is an excellent rendition of this cuvée.

Slightly simple nose. Easy, open texture but not obvious prestige cuvée quality (though admittedly I have just been tasting Grand Siècle 26). Not that persistent. (JR)
Made from 50% Chardonnay, with 45% Pinot Noir and the rest Meunier, and 8 grams per liter of dosage, the 2014 Champagne Belle Epoque Brut pours a brilliant straw hue and is fresh with aromas of white peach, a touch of fresh pineapple, and fresh tropical flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it has a more expansive feel on the palate, with more structure and a lively mousse that lends a touch of white pepper on the finish. The palate at this stage is ripe, with pure notes peach fruit, and it’s very fresh in its style.
