Score 87/100 · Drink 2023-2030, Neal Martin, Dec 2023

The 2019 Chablis Clos de Lechét 1er Cru lacks some complexity and amplitude on the nose, which feels slightly over-cropped with diluted aromatics. The palate is spicy on the entry, with modest depth, dried honey and beeswax. It's a little waxy in texture with a pithier finish than its peers. Yet underneath, it doesn't exude personality or terroir expression. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
