2021 Bienvenues Batard Montrachet

Tasting notes
In 2021, this is laden with generous, almost heady fruit – peach and pineapple making for a voluptuous wine that envelops you. It’s creamy and layered on the palate with incredible texture that builds with sweet spice adding complexity. It’s concentrated, full and rich with real Grand Cru concentration. Only two barrels made.

The 2021 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has quite an open and generous bouquet with apple blossom, nectarine and touches of persimmon. I would like a little more terroir expression here. The palate is smooth and slightly creamy on the entry, well balanced and certainly the richest of Pernot's offerings in 2021, a crowd pleaser in many ways, yet it doesn't quite deliver the same caliber as the Bâtard-Montrachet. Drink over the next decade.
About the producer

Alvina Pernot is one of the most exciting producers of white Burgundy today. Based in Puligny-Montrachet with some incredible vineyards, this is a name to watch – creating taut and mineral styles of white Burgundy.
