Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2023-2035, Neal Martin, Dec 2020

The 2019 Beaune Tuvilains 1er Cru is matured with 30% new oak and 50% whole bunch. It has a Pommard-like bouquet - no surprise given its location - of earthy black fruit tinged with clove and bay leaf. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, pretty dark berry fruit and just a light ash-like tincture toward the understated "infusion"-style finish.
