2020 St Veran

The 2020 Saint-Véran comes from Davayé with some ferrous soils, also another parcel towards Prissé. Matured in used barrels, 15% new, it has an engaging bouquet with touches of blackcurrant leaf, orange rind and a light menthol note. The palate is well balanced with a bitter lemon note lending tension right from the start. Moderate weight, perhaps this just needs a little more mineralité to come through on the finish? It should drink well for four to five years though.
