Score 87/100 · Drink 2020-2025, Neal Martin, Sep 2020

The 2019 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has quite an extrovert nose featuring punchy tropical scents of pineapple chunks and guava that are attractive albeit far removed from what I think of as an archetypal Chablis. The palate is ripe and candied with low acidity. An almost voluptuous Chablis that I would assume comes from a warmer climate. Enjoyable for sure, but not exactly... Chablis.
