The 2020 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has an attractive bouquet, predominantly yellow fruit mixed with subtle honeysuckle and apple blossom scents. There's fine delineation, though not mind-blowingly complex, mind you. The palate is fresh on the entry with a dash of spice and fine salinity. It's not a complex Chablis, but it feels nicely detailed towards the finish, with a hint of white pepper lingering on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
