Offering up notes of cherries, red berries, smoked meats and sweet soil tones, the 2017 Aloxe-Corton Les Valozières is medium-bodied, ripe and open-knit, with youthfully chewy and appellation-typical tannins that are largely cloaked in the wine's sweet core of fruit.

In tank and will be bottled in March. Mid crimson. Very ripe cherries on the nose. Ripe and a little damson-like on the palate. Smooth but doesn't taste like the freshest sample, so I could be being too hard on it. (JH)
