Tasting notes
The 2021 Le Merle de Péby Faugères comes from a selection the Péby Vineyard, in the eastern side of the appellation, and checks in as 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Yields were a tiny 22 hectoliters per hectare, and the wine offers a pretty, soft, plump, and forward style as well as lots of floral and blue fruit driven aromatics. It's a pretty, charming effort that will drink well right out of the gate.

The 2021 Le Merle de Péby Faugères has an opulent bouquet with ravishing dark cherry and cassis scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, nicely balanced, fine grip with just the right amount of edginess on the finish. This is a fine Deuxième Vin that will deserve three to four years in bottle.
The 2021 Le Merle de Péby-Faugères is a gorgeous, effusive wine that will drink well right out of the gate. A rush of floral and spice top notes melds into a racy, succulent red cherry/plum fruit. All the elements are so nicely balanced.
