The 2017 Champagne Grand Cru Oger Extra Brut is lifted with a pretty bouquet of white flowers, wet stone, ripe green apple, and candied lime and lemon citrus. It has a purity that I found quite compelling initially, and it continues on the palate with refinement and a fantastic, refreshing energy, with a coiled core of lime zest, salinity, and elegant texture in its mousse. This is a wonderful first impression from the domaine that I think has a lot of promise. Drink over the next 10-15 years.

The 2017 Extra Brut Oger Grand Cru is powerful, deep and super-intriguing, The 2017 is not especially elegant nor refined, but it does offer quite a bit of intensity in a vinous, resonant style that is hugely appealing. Citrus peel, dried flowers, chamomile, spice, tangerine oil and light honeyed notes are all dialed up in this rich, heady Champagne. This is a terrific showing. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: February, 2021.
