The 2019 Côte de Nuits-Villages continues to perform superbly, exhibiting aromas of raspberries and orange rind mingled with notions of cloves, cinnamon and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, it's a perfumed, succulent wine that concludes with a long, rose-inflected finish.

Cask sample from this domaine in Corgolin where Jean-Pierre de Smet (ex Arlot) plays a part. Transparent crimson with a smudgy rim. Light nose. Here is proof that you don't need to pay a fortune to buy a slice of 2019 burgundy. Juicy and textured with pure Côte de Nuits flavours and structure. Really zesty with a hint of orange peel and a certain chalky texture on the finish. Not dense or concentrated but a charmer that I could happily drink tonight. VGV (JR)
