Score 90/100 · Drink 2020-2034, Neal Martin, Nov 2019

The 2018 Emma Pinot Noir includes 30% whole-bunch fruit and is matured in 40% new oak. It offers vivid red cherry and raspberry coulis scents on the nose, and the oak is neatly folded into the fruit, Volnay-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. It feels fleshy and rounded, but just needs a little more backbone and complexity to match up to the impressive aromatics. Not bad, although not the best Emma Pinot Noir I have tasted.
