Tasting notes
The 2020 Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru has quite a rich and outgoing bouquet, plenty of mulberry fruit here laced with touches of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, quite ripe and slightly confit towards the finish, generous but let’s see how long-term it is.

One of the denser deeper darker colours here, and a somewhat brooding nose. There is power in this part of Corton. A miserly 20 hl/ha and 14% alcohol. Some sun-dried cherries alongside the ultra-ripe raspberry in this super-concentrated wine. A little whiff of vanillin behind. Long and substantial.
Cask sample. Mid crimson. Smells of very small tangy dark-red wild berries. Fragrant and laced with vanilla sweetness. Oak is quite marked on the palate, with the tannins thickened by it. But it is full of fruit, the tannins polished. Generous, extremely moreish and balanced for the long term.
