Tasting notes
The 2020 Beaune Les Bressandes 1er Cru offers dark, plummy fruit on the nose. Dark chocolate and fig aromas appear in the background. The palate is quite gritty on the entry, with slightly baked black fruit, pain grillé , and black pepper, and it is a bit Rhône-like on the finish. Note that this does improve in the glass and finally gains more confit-like red fruit and develops a little more delineation. I don't believe this is a representative bottle. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes was a little more reticent on this visit, offering up aromas of loamy soil, rich cherry and berry fruit, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and lively, with powdery tannins and a long, saline finish, I look forward to revisiting it in bottle.
The 2020 Beaune Les Bressandes 1er Cru has a very pure bouquet with no whole bunch, allowing the blueberry and wild strawberry fruit to flourish. The palate is very cohesive and (again), pure, with supple tannins, gorgeous blue and red fruit, silky smooth on the finish. This is a very well-crafted and quite sensual Beaune in the making. Top drawer.
