From 2 ha on flat land rich in yellow marl – 'perfect for Chardonnay'. Chardonnay has apparently been planted there since the 13th century. For Weber, it is considered very important that the wine is not too heavy so he picked here first. 'When you press the yellow berries, it’s always like Meursault's Goutte d'Or,' he says. Real high-toned edge to this interesting wine. Still the whistle-clean flavour, creamy texture and a suggestion of patisserie. Fairly light but faultless. Not especially persistent. (JR)

The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Clos Saint-Landry Blanc opens in the glass with aromas of citrus zest, white flowers and crisp stone fruit. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and charming, it's elegantly textural and enveloping, with lively acids and a chalky finish.

The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Clos Saint-Landry Blanc 1er Cru has a lively lime cordial scented bouquet with touches of Clementine and a touch of saffron, quite playful. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, good weight with quite a bit of extract on the peachy finish. Probably more for early drinking.
