Cooler vintage. From the same top parcel of Chardonnay clone 95 as the 2018. 3,500 bottles made in the same way as the 2018. Dosage 7 g/l. Magnum. Greenish straw. Much less flattering and more bracing than the 2018. Gaining richness on the palate. Very fine texture. Lots of lime and zest. Hint of putty. Tenser than 2018. Very youthful, but very good in my glass! (JR)

Chardonnay on limestone. Dosage 4 g/l. Fine mousse. Refined citrusy aroma with lots of autolytic toastiness, England's acidity balanced by the lees-aged richness. Intense, sweet/sour, long, with just a little sense of the dosage on the finish although it is only 4 g/l. Piercing freshness, maybe that sweet/sour is just the contrast of really ripe fruit flavours and high acidity. (JH)
