Tasting Notes
On the cooler Left Bank of Chablis, Montmains remains one of the most unique terroirs in Chablis, producing wines with distinct salinity and racy acids. The 2020 is beautifully elegant and ripe on the nose with grapefruit, pineapple and Reine Claude plum aromas. The complex palate is driven by a beautiful, fresh minerality and great acidity. The finish is long and clean. It has amazing persistence, with white fruit lingering on the palate for a good minute. It is superbly fresh and gourmand. The wine is entirely aged in oak (two to three-year-old oak barrels for six months).

The 2020 Chablis Montmains 1er Cru has a lovely floral bouquet of orange blossom with hints of honeysuckle and jasmine. The palate is well balanced with a supple opening, slightly honeyed in texture and pithy toward the finish, revealing hints of peach skin and spices. This is a very promising Montmains that should age with style.
