RS 3.0 g/l, TA 5.9 g/l, 3.54 pH. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot. Black fruit, very high tannins here, tough and smoky. Needs a bit more loveability! (RH)

(includes 15% merlot; from 12- to 14-year-old vines) Saturated, deep ruby-red. Ripe, sappy red- and blackcurrant aromas, with mineral, mint and lead pencil notes; like modern-style claret. Tightly wound and intense, with terrific, urgent layered fruit and sexy French oak. At once firm and smooth. Finishes with big, broad tannins and excellent persistence. Very suave, primary wine with a tightly coiled spring for extended aging.
