Spectacular clarity of fruit, but also the instant earthiness that great Pinot Noir conveys: mushroom, soy, farmyard and granite. A masterclass in Pinot typicality, and there's a long road ahead. (RH)

There’s a very floral and gently sappy edge to the nose with crushed roses and light red cherries. The palate has a very bright, strawberry and wild-cherry edge. Fine and bright. Drink now.

About the producer

Bass Phillip
Bass Phillip

Bass Phillip has been quietly making world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in Leongatha, South Gippsland, since the 1990s. The estate’s wines were long sold almost exclusively in Australia, meaning that the producer remains relatively little-known beyond its native shores.
