Tasting notes
The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vignes Rondes 1er Cru has a very mineral-driven nose; you can sense the cold, wet limestone that almost overwhelms the tightly packed dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, very suave and harmonious, fanning out gloriously toward the precise finish. One to watch.

The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vignes Rondes 1er Cru has quite a dense and powerful nose compared to the Au Bas du Combes, featuring brambly black fruit mixed with sous-bois and a whiff of chalk dust. The medium-bodied palate delivers supple tannins. Fleshy and forward, with bitter cherry and white pepper toward the spicy, almost feisty finish. Very fine.
The 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vignes Rondes has turned out especially well this year, bursting with aromas of cherries, cassis, peonies and orange rind that are framed by a very discrete touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and enveloping, with powdery tannins, succulent acids and a penetrating finish.
