The 2018 Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc is blended with 4% Sémillon, whole-bunch-pressed and given eight months of lees contact. It has a lively, energetic bouquet of lime, gooseberry and light asparagus aromas that leap from the glass. The palate is fresh and tangy on the entry, with lip-smacking salinity and a vibrant, penetrating finish that calls out for a platter of fruits de mer . Superb.

The 2018 Noordhoek Sauvignon Blanc was taken from tank before tasting and due to be bottled two months later. It has a little more fruit on the nose, touches of white peach flanking the citrus peel, green apple and kiwi fruit notes. The palate is well balanced with a little more weight than the 2017, although at the moment I prefer the tension displayed by the 2017. It should be interesting to taste once in bottle.
