Score 92/100 · Drink 2016-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jun 2016
The recently disgorged 1998 Grand Vintage Rosé Collection is in a great place today. In 1998, the blend leans more heavily towards Chardonnay, which is felt in the wine’s lithe, delicate personality and brilliance. Dried flowers, mint, dried cherries, licorice and sweet red berries are all finely-knit in this super-attractive, open-knit Champagne. The 1998 is not super-complex, but it is absolutely delicious and also close to fully mature, all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. The blend is 43% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 22% Pinot Meunier. Disgorged in April 2013.
