The 2018 Côte de Nuits-Villages was produced from fruit purchased from the commune of Brochon. Mingling raspberries and cherries with hints of candied peel, cassis and currant leaf, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a lively spine of acidity and powdery structuring tannins.

From Brochon. 60% whole bunch. Barrel sample. Sweeter fruited on the nose compared with the Louis Auguste but still with the slight herbal note. Thyme again. Light on the palate, delicate, just enough fruit for the whole-bunch style but I find it slightly lean at this stage. Tight, mouth-watering, sinewy. (JH)
