Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru offers lovely precision and energy in the rather taut style for this site, where the wines tend to be a bit more generous. Green pear, spice and white flowers add lovely shades of nuance. More than anything else, I am struck by the wine's saline-infused energy. The taut style will appeal most to readers who enjoy nervy, classically built Chablis.

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu is another of the broader, ampler premiers crus in the range this year, revealing notes of honeyed apples and dried white flowers, followed by a fleshy, open-knit but muscular palate, concluding with a saline finish.
Wet-chalk, honey, apple-blossom and pear aromas make for a fresh and complex nose. The palate has a very succulent, zesty and concentrated feel and delivers attractive freshness at the finish. Drink now.
