Score 89/100 · Drink 2019-2031, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019
On the nose, the 2016 Deconstructed Syrah Cartref SH22 is soft and floral with subtle minerality and hints of black spice. On the palate, the wine becomes spicier, more mineral and gives way to a soft meaty flavor on the mid-palate. It has a good long finish and should improve with some cellar aging. The only downside is that basically only one barrel was made that ended up producing 289 bottles.

Smoky and elegant, a long floating dress of a Syrah with floral pattern and fine weave – beautiful! Tight tannic grip and a long, vanilla-edged finish. Ripe, bold, delicious. (RH)
