Score 90-92/100 · Drink 2019-2033, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Blanchards has a more floral and expressive bouquet than the Aux Chezeaux, afforded a sense of energy that seems to develop in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin; it is masculine and foursquare with good grip, a sense of tension and animation filtering through on the focused finish. It will require 4-5 years in bottle, but there is good potential here.

(from 60-year-old vines; entirely destemmed): Healthy medium red. Reduced aromas of black cherry and licorice. Juicy and tight in the mouth, showing a cool, almost minty quality and racy minerality to its precise black cherry fruit (the calcaire under a layer of black clay typically gives this wine a mineral pungency and very good lift, noted Arlaud). This long and distinctive wine tastes like it's from another vintage. Arlaud noted that there were one white grapes planted here.
