2004 Delamotte Collection

The 2004 Collection is outrageously beautiful. Gently mellowed by the passage of time, the 2004 offers up scents of passionfruit, pastry, baked apple tart, marzipan and warm, toasty notes. Quite simply, this is everything I am looking for in a 20-year-old Champagne. The original release was compelling, so it is not a surprise to see that the Collection offers a bit more complexity. Le Mesnil, Oger, Avize and Cramant are the core fruit sources. As is often the case, Delamotte flies under the radar. The 2004 is quite simply exquisite.
