Another wine that offers a Pinot Noir-like level of elegance and finesse, the 2013 Gigondas le Lieu Dit is full-bodied, silky and polished, with terrific notes of wild strawberries, incense, forest floor and flowers. It's drinking nicely today, with sweet tannin, but it has the balance and depth to keep through 2025.

Brilliant ruby. Smoke-accented cherry and red berries on the highly perfumed nose. Silky and open-knit, offering palate-caressing raspberry and bitter cherry flavors and a spicy kick of cracked pepper. A sexy floral note emerges on the clinging finish, which features building tannins and a hint of spicecake.
