Score 91/100 · Drink 2018-2028, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Aug 2018

The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains (which hails from the lieux-dits of Vaux Miolot and Butteaux) offers up aromas of white flowers, green apple and bread dough. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, glossy and concentrated, with a deep, blocky profile and good underlying tension. It's a definite success.

Cask sample. Baked apples, a few twists of spice with a quite fat, viscous mouthfeel. Lacks the classical Chablis poise, but makes up for it with flavour intensity. (RH)

Dense and chiselled on the nose. Intense and creamy with lots of green-fruit acidity. Almost drinkable already! (JR)
