Despite the fact that 50% of the crop was sold off to negociants, this is an emaciated, thin, vegetal Beaucastel without enough fruit and glycerin to cover its skeletal structure. Given its lack of fruit, charm, and pleasure, it has no place to go but down. Beaucastel is imported by Vineyard Brands, Chester, VT; tel. (802) 875-2139
About the producer

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate is one of the Rhône’s most famous addresses. With a history stretching back to the 16th century, Beaucastel remains family owned and run, with the fifth generation of the Perrin family – Marc, Pierre, Thomas, Cécile, Charles, Matthieu and César – at the helm today.
