Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2013-2023, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Dec 2013

Even more impressive, the estate’s old vine cuvee, the 2012 Rasteau La Fontaine, is consistently one of the top 2-3 wines in the vintage. A blend of mostly tank-aged Grenache, with a splash of Mourvedre (aged in demi-muid), this gorgeous effort tastes like the essence of Rasteau. Black fruits, dried spices, garrigue and mineral-like aromas all flow from the glass and this full-bodied, concentrated and blockbuster-styled Rasteau will benefit from a year or two in the cellar, and evolve gracefully for upward of a decade. Located in Rasteau, Domaine La Colliere is run by the talented Georges Perrot, with consulting advice from Philippe Cambie. Both of these 2012s are excellent and some of the top wines in the vintage.
