Tasting notes
Glistening ruby. Mineral-inflected red/blue fruits on the assertively perfumed nose, along with incense, exotic spices and fresh flowers. Alluringly sweet and penetrating, offering intense boysenberry and raspberry flavors braced by juicy acidity. Fine-grained tannins add spine to a wonderfully long, sappy finish that strongly repeats the floral and mineral notes.

Emblematic wine that offers pure pleasure. A real find in a Carcassonne brasserie, even if the wine list promised the 2017 and we had to ask for 'cocktail' ballons to enjoy it properly. Really fresh and pure. No shortage of either fruit or acidity. We took the half-full bottle home and enjoyed the wine at a wide range of temperatures. Great with turbot. (JR)
The 2018 Morgon saw a small sulfur dioxide addition just before bottling, and while it exhibits similar aromas of cherries, berries and rose petals, it's a bit more reserved on the palate, with a touch less immediate flesh on its medium to full-bodied frame and its powdery tannins a little more prominent. I suspect that after another six months the two bottlings will be indistinguishable.
Pale smudgy garnet colour (and beautifully simple label). This wine is so pure and gorgeous! But gosh how the price has risen since I bought a case only a few vintages ago. It's a great advertisement for minimal intervention and purity. Direct fruit and not a trace of oak. Long and reverberant. Already drinkable but there is no hurry whatsoever. (JR)
