2018 Baret

Barrel sample. Deepest cherry red with purple rim. Intense cedary cassis, with a delicate and attractive floral layer. Very chewy tannins but they are also very smooth so the whole is both rich and fresh. Deep flavours, lots of chew on the finish but nothing aggressive. Dry but not drying end. (JH)

A fresh and pretty wine with undertones of tar, wet earth and salt to the black fruit. Some black olives, too. Medium body, firm and lightly chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Traditional style with attractive concentration.
