Tasting notes
Still very concentrated crimson with purple notes. Some ironstone overlay and less sweet than the Cape Mentelle. Introvert and a little drying on the end. Rather simple Cabernet flavours at the moment. Perhaps it is just too young to show its best yet? (JR)

Made at Woodlands. Sweet, ripe dark fruit. Damson and cassis and just a hint of dried tomato and eucalyptus. Touch of VA, perhaps, but not intrusive. Refined texture, a real lightness of touch. But there's depth to the plush fruit even at this moderate alcohol level and a firm tannin foundation. Highly distinctive. (JH)
Only, 1400 bottles of the 2011 were made. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Malbec, the very deep garnet-purple colored 2010 Cloudburst Cabernet Sauvignon shows off an alluring nose of crushed black currants and blackberries with underlying violet, cedar, marmite toast, chocolate and Mediterranean herb hints. Medium-bodied with taut, muscular and minty blackberry flavors, it is supported by firm, finely-grained tannins and lively acid before finishing harmoniously with persistent herbal-laced notes. Very promising start for this new property in Wilyabrup! Drink it now to 2022+. Only 1900 bottles of the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon were made. Imported by Cloudburst Wines LLC.; info@cloudburstwines.com
