Tasting notes
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard is gorgeous. This hillside Conn Valley site yields a silky, perfumed Cabernet that emphasizes finesse over just pure power. Bright red cherry fruit, rose petals, mint and spice notes all grace this exquisite, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon. I would give the 2016 a few years to soften further, but it is a gorgeous, vivid Cabernet loaded with personality and class.

Deep purple-black in color and composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard comes drifting effortlessly out of the glass with beautiful exotic spice, incense and potpourri scents—star anise, cumin seed, gingerbread, Sichuan pepper, sandalwood and dried roses—over a crème de cassis and mulberries core plus wafts of cigar box and dusty soil. Full-bodied and profoundly fruited with black berry preserves and exotic spice layers, it has a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness lifting the very long, fragrant finish.
From a slightly higher elevation site in Conn Valley (the vineyard was planted in 2006) and brought up in new barrels, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Three Twins Vineyard is more open and expressive, with a sexy, seamless profile. Blackcurrants, black cherries, dried herbes de Provence, chocolate, and graphite notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, soft, downright irresistible Cabernet that has the plushness to offer pleasure today, yet the balance to keep for 15-20 years or more.
