Tasting notes
Myriad's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III is sourced from five different blocks on the property, with harvest times that span a full three weeks, which is remarkable for fruit from a single ranch. Powerful, dense and explosive, the Georges III has so much to offer. Readers should expect a potent, virile Cabernet Sauvignon. Scorched earth, new leather, licorice, tobacco, bittersweet chocolate and espresso build as this potent Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its personality.

Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is a little youthfully mute to begin—with coaxing, stunning black cherries, blackcurrant cordial and licorice scents emerge, backed up by fragrant earth and lilacs notions and wafts of black pepper, cinnamon and cloves. Full-bodied and laden with black fruit and spicy layers, the palate is built like a brick house, with firm, ripe, grainy tannins and tons of freshness, finishing with a lively menthol kick.
A mix of clones and brought up in 80% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard is straight-up gorgeous, with a deep, dense, concentrated style reminiscent of a great vintage of Léoville-Las-Cases. Blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings, chocolate, tobacco leaf, and ample earthy minerality all give way to a powerful, full-bodied 2016 that has plenty of density, ripe tannins, and a big finish. It's tight and closed at present yet has awesome potential, so the cellar is going to be your friend. There are 175 cases produced.
