Tasting notes
Coming mostly from the 2019 vintage, the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut is from vines in Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Mesnil Sur Oger, was aged partially in 228-liter barrels, and was bottled unfiltered. Pouring a brilliant yellow/silver color, its nose is inviting, floral, and quite elegant, with aromas of candied green apples, lemon curd, linen, and pastry dough. Medium-bodied, it’s quite finessed but also does not lack in power, revealing a coiled center, a pinpoint mousse, and a long, chalky finish. I’m quite impressed with this wine. It has a lot to offer now but is going to improve if given a chance to age over the coming 10-15 years. Two grams per liter dosage and disgorged in September of 2022.
