Score 91/100 · Drink 2000-2009, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

More masculine, black fruit-driven, mineral and ripe than the 1990, the 1989 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-bodied, structured and chewy effort that's fully mature, yet has the concentration and depth to continue evolving nicely. It lacks the elegance and purity of the 1990, but offers a big, mouthful of Chateauneuf du Pape love.
