The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Forêts offers up a brighter, more citrus-driven bouquet than the Montmains, with notions of grapefruit and lemon oil mingling with white flowers and almond paste. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, tense and stony, with racy acids and a chalky, saline finish. It retains a very classic profile.

Cask sample. Sharp green-apple aromas, light body, but not quite as bright in terms of acidity as Chablis perhaps should be. (RH)

Very light nose. Is it autosuggestion that leads me to find light forest-floor notes in this? It’s a little more subdued than its stablemates. (JR)
