Tasting notes
The 2017 IGP Saint Guilhem le Desert Blanc is a shade drier than other recent vintages, weighing in at five grams per liter of residual sugar. As always, it's a multifaceted blend, including Petit Manseng, Viognier, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, plus some other bit and pieces. Melon, pear and citrus notes mark this flavorful, complex white, while the silky texture and long finish add yet other dimensions of pleasure to this medium to full-bodied wine. While the 2004 I tasted at the estate was still drinking beautifully, I'd generally opt for drinking these wines over a shorter time horizon.
