Score 93/100 · Drink 2018-2037, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Dec 2018

Harvested 12 days after the Federspiel on the 18th of October, Jamek's 2017 Ried Klaus Riesling Smaragd displays an intense golden-yellow color and a very clear, elegant, perfectly ripe but still terroir-driven nose with ripe fruit aromas intertwined with crunchy, crystalline notes of crushed stones. Bottled in April with 14% alcohol and 5.5 grams of residual sugar, this is a full-bodied, piquant, elegant, very well balanced Klaus with remarkable acidity (nearly seven grams) and stimulating salinity on the finish. Expressive but elegant. Tasted in Dürnstein, Wachau, September 2018.
