Tasting notes
Ruby-red. Ripe aromas of blackberry, smoked meat and licorice pastille. Juicy and vibrant, with rather powerful dark fruit flavors for the appellation. Offers impressive concentration and volume, not to mention very good definition. The sturdy, medicinal finish features substantial ripe tannins.

A 2005 Cotes de Nuits-Villages offers compressed, concentrated bitter but ripe black fruit with hints of game and licorice, juicy refreshment for all of its density, and both meaty and mineral salt finishing notes. It is hard to imagine getting much more wine from this appellation. (The 2004 Bachelet crus, incidentally, are refined, well-concentrated classics for that vintage, juxtaposing tart fresh fruit with a subtle creaminess, and very much worth cellaring for a few years.) Various Importers. A Becky Wasserman Selection, Le Serbet; fax 011- 333-80-24-29-70.
Deep ruby-red. Pure aromas of wild black fruits, violet, game and smoke. Dense and penetrating, with impressively concentrated black fruit flavors. Excellent for this level. Juicy and expressive wine with the power of the vintage.
