Score 93-96/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018

(the estate's lower block of Chambertin was wiped out by frost so this wine is essentially all Clos de Bèze): Dark red with ruby tones. Very ripe, slightly high-toned aromas of black cherry and blood orange. Compellingly dense and silky in the mouth, conveying outstanding energy and a sense of refinement to its dark fruit, soil and savory mineral flavors. Wonderfully showy wine with superb intensity and all the elements for a slow and graceful evolution in bottle. Finishes with slow-building length and complex earth tones.
