Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Cool blue and red fruit, a hint of reduction too on the nose. Polished texture with soft and easy tannins. Caramelised red fruit dominant – lightly creamy with soft and yielding tannins. Not overly complex but should yield pleasure in the medium term. Mocha lingers on the finish. (TP)

The 2017 Pavillon de Léoville-Poyferré is plump, juicy and open-knit - all qualities that make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Plush fruit, silky contours and bright floral notes add to the wine's notable immediacy. This is a very pretty second wine that finishes with great precision and energy.
